Psalm 22:14-16

14 I am poured out like water,
    and all my bones are out of joint;
my heart is like wax;
    it is melted within my breast;
15 my strength is dried up like a potsherd,
    and my tongue sticks to my jaws;
    you lay me in the dust of death.

16 For dogs encompass me;
    a company of evildoers encircles me;
they have pierced my hands and feet

How do the verses we read today point to Jesus’ death on the cross? (These verses describe how a person would feel who was crucified. The piercing of the hands and feet would have been caused by the nails used to hold Jesus to the cross.)
